Turk’s Collision in Minooka recently completed a Ford Fusion repair, which was needed due to flying debris on the roadway that came in contact with the frontal exterior surfaces of the car. The refinish work on this Tuxedo Black, (black metallic), was of key importance. All dark colors are highly reflective and therefore if there are imperfections they are more easily visible than lighter colors. Also important on black finishes, is the way the basecoat and clearcoat “lay-down”, known as the “orange peel”. Additionally the sanding, buffing and final glaze need to produce a mirror like finish devoid of any haze, swirls or marks. This Ford Fusion repair and the refinish work turned out beautiful.
Thanks to its popularity and abundance of available parts, Ford Fusion repairs are relatively straight forward.
The Ford Fusion is a mid sized car introduced in 2006 based on the Mazda 6. While the Fusion has a European inspired, yet completely American look, the Mazda 6 has a contoured Asian influenced styling. The Ford Fusion has won many awards including Motor Trend’s Car of the Year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s “Pick of the Year”. The Ford Fusion is among the top selling mid sized cars competing with the Toyota Camry. The Ford Fusion comes well equipped in varying trim levels, offering a blend of performance, safety, good looks and good fuel mileage. The Fusion is very popular and Ford shares this platform with the Fusion’s siblings the Mercury Milan and the Lincoln MKZ.
